Featuring: Paul Kandarian as Winston Churchill
An historical fiction short film, based upon the speech given by Winston Churchill before Parliament on May 13, 1940.
Currently in post-production.
We shot the entire film in an afternoon with essentially no prep time, so lighting had to be kept simple and flexible. Though the setting was tight, with all the actors seated at one end of the room for much of the dialog, I was able to take advantage of neutral walls, a popcorn ceiling and a few silks and nets to manage intensity and shadow. The director, Jill Poisson, wanted a relatively deep field (T5.6 for the most part), and everything was shot in BRAW with an Ursa 6K and a BMPCC 6K Pro.
We only had a few scanned photos from 50 years ago to lay the foundations for this video, but we went to the site, photographed the building as it appears today from the same angles and using as similar a lens as possible, and then blended the before and afters into a seamless video slideshow to be used on the business website, Facebook page and for other social media outlets.
